New Beginnings

The Apostle Paul in Ephesians chapter 5 talks about the mystery of Christ and the church. Verse 31 says, “For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” I truly believe with my heart that it is our heavenly Father’s desire to not only see our marriage become a prophetic representation of Christ and his bride (the church), but that all Christian marriages would prophesy the love of Jesus for His bride. We believe that we are living in a day and age where we will see the Kingdom of God established on earth as it is in heaven! How will this happen? It will happen when we begin to follow the great commandment to love one another as He has loved us. St. Francis of Assisi said, “ Preach the gospel, and use words when necessary.” This begins by our demonstrating our love for one another, especially our spouses and family members. By this they will know we are Christians, by our love! As we begin to follow the simple command of loving, we shall see multitudes come into the kingdom.

I do not claim to completely understand the mystery of marriage or of Christ and His bride, but what I do know is that according to John 15 if we obey his command to love one another we are considered friends of God. Wouldn’t you like to be known as a friend of God! I would! This begins with the knowledge of our heavenly Fathers extravagant love for us! As we abide in His love and His word, our lives will be transformed, our minds will be renewed, and our light will shine forth brighter and brighter. Friends of God I leave you with one word. LOVE!
